The cards of Smutstone: your heroines and monsters
Every character in Smutstone is a card with an attack value, health, a color and an effect. Here is a tour of the roster, from the first Common you collect to the Mythic cards that end tournaments.
Smutstone’s roster mixes classic fantasy figures with twisted originals: elementals, fairy-tale heroines, witches, angels, monsters and warrior women, all drawn in the game’s bold Western comic style.
Common cards: where every collection starts
Common cards arrive early and teach you the basics of colors and leveling. You will meet Water Elemental, Fire Elemental and Earth Elemental, the sneaky Thief, the mysterious Alice, the loyal Gatekeeper, Mermaid, Tamer, Snow White, Ataman, Avenger, Undine, Cook, Gypsy, Enchantress, Twins, Succubus, Satyr, Shaman, Slave and Mechanic. None of them are world beaters, but a fully leveled Common core can carry you through the first chapters.
Rare cards: the dependable middle
Rare cards start appearing as the campaign warms up. The roster includes Pirate, Harpy, Axewoman, Dark Angel, Arabian Princess, Snow Queen, Sentinel, Leprechaun, Witch, Maid, Cinderella, Stepmother, Archeress, Dark Queen, Waitress, Lady of Storms, Overseer, Adventuress, Bard, Blind Warrior, Geomancer, Barbarian, Fallen Angel and Swamp Witch. Rare cards hold their own in mid-game decks and many stay useful for their effects alone.
Every card shows its stats and its effect at a glance.
Epic cards: where decks get serious
Epic cards bring the abilities that define real strategies. Look for Elemental Hunter, Savage, Elven Elder, Dark Priestess, Light Angel, Fairy, Inquisitor, Alchemist, Vampire, Dryad, Pharaoh, Geisha, Lady of the Lake, Lady of Fire, Fencer, Heretic, Lady of Snakes, Tribal, Lone Druid, Aquarius, East Genie, Countess, Forest Spirit and Soul Catcher. An Epic with the right effect can anchor a deck the way no Common ever could.
Legendary cards: the trophies
Legendary cards are rare, expensive and worth the chase. The lineup includes Red Riding Hood, Witch Doctor, Undead Queen, Cultist, Amazon, Warlock, Assassin, Snow Maiden, Valkyrie, Healer, Medusa, Harlequin, Light Elemental, Dark Twins, Oglodi and Owl. Their effects are the flashiest in the game: Warlock resurrects, Assassin rages, Snow Maiden freezes, Valkyrie throws fireballs, Healer mends, Medusa curses. Most Legendaries come from Gold and Silver boxes, Duel Chests, or tournament prizes for the top three players.
Mythic cards: the summit
At the top sit the Mythic cards: Bone Walker, Temptress and Lady Butterfly. Mythic cards carry effects such as Chilling Touch, Vengeance Song and Aegis, and they are the rarest sights in the game. Owning one changes how your whole deck is built, because a single Mythic can carry a fight that stats alone would lose.
Tournaments are the road to the rarest cards.
Colors and effects matter as much as rarity
Before you chase rarity, remember the color system. A strong Blue core, a wall of Green cards, or a Dark combo built around curses are all viable. Effects like Resurrect, Rage, Freeze, Fireball, Heal, Curse, Shield and Aegis interact with colors, so the smartest players build around a theme rather than a pile of shiny cards.
